Foundations of Histology and Pathobiology - Graduate

Enrollment in this course is by invitation only

About This Course

The Foundations of Histology and Pathobiology section of SFM is designed to provide the foundations to understand organ histology and histopathology. This course begins with basic concepts of tissue organization and ends with globally relevant histopathologic changes seen in disease. This course is designed to provide the background material necessary for the disease oriented sections to come. This course is primarily designed around the virtual microscopy system within small groups, occasional lectures and e-lectures. For more information about the course, please read the Syllabus and other materials you find in Blackboard.

The Inversus system you are using is a substantial upgrade from the previous year’s software. A special thank you to Josh Cohen and Regina de Luna for their help in bringing this project to fruition. All of the class e-lectures are found here. After each segment on an e-lecture is a series of questions – some easy, some hard and some tricky. These are designed to stimulate your thinking about the material and have you well prepared for the in class virtual microscopy (VM) sessions.
